3D Laser Scanning

FROM AN ACTUAL DENSE CAPTURE: 1,160 SHOTS ACROSS 69 FEET OF RELIEF

A laser scanner measures a site by the million rather than by the point. Where a crew with a total station records the features someone thought to ask for, a scan records the whole surface and lets the questions come later.

The deliverable is a point cloud: a dense, dimensionally accurate three dimensional record of a site as it stood on the day of capture. From it we can extract sections, surfaces, clash checks and drawings without going back to the field.

Where scanning earns its keep

  • Complex existing conditions where a hand measurement would take days and still miss something
  • Renovation and retrofit, where new steel has to fit old structure
  • Industrial sites with dense pipework and equipment
  • Any building or structure worth recording before it is altered
  • Volume measurement of stockpiles and excavation
The great advantage is that the site is measured once and asked questions many times. A dimension nobody thought of on the day of capture is usually already in the cloud.

What you receive
